AT HOME

I am savoring these days with the younger two at home with me. They are bonding more and more. Greta now frequently says how much she loves Quinn, and Quinn returns her love with lots of smiles. These past couple of days Greta has been Laura Ingalls, I was Ma, and Quinn was baby Carrie. Greta kept taking my tape measure, using it as a microphone and making announcements, something like this:

"Attention everyone? Attention! I have something to tell you that you've never known before. There was a cat that climbed on our car, and that is a great mystery because our cat Jack has been missing for months. All Men."

"Attention everyone? Attention! I want to tell you what you don't know and that is that Ma pushed the baby out. All Men."

"Attention everyone? Attention! Pa has returned. All Men."

These pictures were captured with Quinn on my lap. The sight of him gazing up at me in this position has become very familiar. Do you like the tomato soup smeared on Greta's face? I think I'll go wipe that off now.

Oh what beautiful children! I love the shape of Quinn's mouth.

The gaze of an infant into his mother's face is nothing short of holy.
