GRETA'S SHOW

Greta has developed a little ritual for herself. After supper, she asks to leave the table before everyone else. She goes in the living room and gets one of two books: either Jonathan Livingston Seagull or a pocket version of Walden by Thoreau. She uses the book as a songbook, and pretends to be reading from it as she "puts on her show." She sings and dances. It's so funny how she's established that this is the time when she can capture everyone's attention at once. She always starts off by saying, "Okay guys, are you ready for my show?" Here's a video of part of last night's show, "You gotta sing when the spirit says sing."

Adorable! I love over-hearing Amia sing while she plays, though she has yet to initiate any performances for us.

Performing seems to be so much of a personality thing -- I don't remember ever being enthusiastic about performing, and others are really in their element when they're performing. I wonder if that part of Amia will emerge yet, or if it's just not her. . .

I love it. Thanks to you all, our kids now sing every song that is on your family favorites CD that you gave us. Sam's favorite is The Robot Song and Ethan's CURRENT favorite is Troubador Blues. We listen constantly. Tom and I are so thankful that there are grown-up songs on there too!
