Inspired by a picture she colored at school, Mali had the idea that we should make a quilt and cut it into heart shapes for valentines. I went with it (though a much simpler version than what she was thinking). The girls each picked out fabrics, I helped them cut them, I sewed them together, and then we cut them in hearts. Next we will glue them to cards for her class. It turned out to be a fun project, even though it took several days!

cool project! i've been thinking about how we can make some homemade valentines this year (even though my husband thinks it's really "jerk appreciation day" thanks to the musings of our friend jesse g!)
