BIRTH

For now, here's just a peek.

I awoke Mark at 2 am, telling him it was time. He started timing my contractions, though they were erratic and relatively mild. We got the room set up and tried to go back to sleep.

At 5, Mark called the midwife and gave her a warning that things were progressing. She asked him to call back when contractions were longer and more regular. By 6, Mark called her back. She arrived soon after, and I got in the tub by 7:30. Laboring in the tub was wonderful. Delivering in the tub was just what I've always wanted. Quinn appeared by 9:00. It was not easy or fun, I'll say that much. But, of course, it was so worth it. I think I was hoping that a third baby would be easy and quick. Well, I didn't know he was going to be a 10 and a half pound baby!!!

Two big sisters were thrilled to greet him.
