TOO DARN HOT!

Even though it's probably not that hot for the south this time of year, it's too hot for mid-September! Today the girls and I spent most of the day inside, and by afternoon when Mark got home from taking the first part of his board exams, we were all grumpy. We clearly needed a change. So, we left the house in a disaster and filled up the pool. We are planning a water birth at home for this baby, and because of the time of year, I was able to get the right size/type of kiddie pool on the clearance rack at Target. Well, I happened to notice another, much larger pool on the clearance rack and bought it as well. Just in case anyone's concerned, no, this is NOT the pool we will use for birth. The one we use will not be used beforehand. Anyway, it turned out this big kiddie pool I splurged on was the best $3.00 I've spent for awhile. Today's afternoon in it was worth every penny! Not only did we enjoy the freezing cold water, but the girls jumped out and ran to the garden for a little nibble of garden veggie every once in awhile, and even a bouquet of marigolds for the Mama!

Mark is the only one who didn't get in, but check out how relaxed he looks! He completed part 1 of the board exam successfully this weekend -- yeah! He still has to wait 6 weeks to get results, but at least they're done. He has 3 more parts plus the physical therapy exam as well. He's definitely making progress.

Yay Mark!

Katie, you're gorgeous. I was swimming when I was that pregnant with Anya but if anyone had approached me with a camera, they would've been sorry :)
