I realize some consider this plant a weed, but to me it's a treasure chest! The smell of mint immediately takes me back to my Grossmama's yard in the country. She had a carpet of it on the floor of the woods right outside her front door. I'm grateful to have this huge amount. Honestly, I've never seen mint this huge! Mali is quite tall for her age, and as you can see, the top of the mint is over her head! I've made Grossmama's iced tea with it once, and I plan to again before we take off for vacation. I'll be looking for ways to use it in recipes, too. Any ideas?
Grossmama's Iced Tea (warning: this is SWEET and delicious)
for 1 gallon (I think)
Bring 16 cups water to boil. Add 8 tea bags (some claim Lipton black is the best) and 12 sprigs of mint. Let steep for at least 5 minutes. Add 1/2 cup lemon juice and 1 and 1/3 cups sugar. Stir to dissolve. Cool.
