HAPPY EARTH DAY!




How did you celebrate? We dug our hands in the dirt and got our garden in!! Also, I made another kids' compilation CD to pass out to friends. It's full of kids' songs with an Earth Day theme. I tried to explain Earth Day to the girls, and Mali understood some, but they were full of questions like:

M: "Why is this the only world?"
G: "What that mean, Mama?"

In the grander scheme of things, we are gathering ideas for long-term goals to save energy. We are very interested in straw bale construction as well as other alternative energy options, so we've been looking into those possibilities. Next week, we will go to an Earth Day family picnic with the Holistic Moms Network. I have become co-leader of our county's chapter, and it's a small, but rewarding group to be part of.
