THIS GUY

I'm sure it's a combination of personality and birth order and developmental age, but wow, does this little guy want to do.it.by.him.self!!! In all of the following pictures, he did it entirely by himself. He saw Greta's bike and helmet and wanted to get on, so he put on the helmet and climbed on the bike! He noticed that the blocks screw together, so he built an arch all by himself. He decided if the girls could play the violin, so could he, so he picked it up, put it under his chin, held the bow and bowed the strings all by himself. He senses that I'm doing something important on the kitchen counters, so he goes to get a chair, carries it to the counter, and climbs right up. He even dumps whatever he pleases into whatever I am cooking! He's decided that 15 months is too old for sitting in a high chair. No thanks, he would rather sit in an adult chair. My days are filled with surprises like this from this little boy, who is only 15 months, but I guess as a third child has the liberty to decide what age he is.

Oh, and after I came upon his attempt to ride the bike, I helped him get on properly with the helmet. He was very pleased with that. I stepped back to take a picture, and he let go of the handle bars and. . . . no, he did not fall. He just sat there on the bike seat balancing with no hands!

that's funny, claire. mark told the kids after his last ironman that maybe next time he does one, one of his kids will do it with him.
