GETTING THROUGH
Many friends on facebook have asked me why I've had a bad day, and I thought I'd just give a quick explanation here, instead of cluttering up my status with details that not everyone wants to hear. The last week has been littered with days that just haven't gone well. Mark's in finals, which means life is stressful for all of us. One day, I thought I was loosing it, and called my mom to ask her to call me later to make sure I hadn't had a mental breakdown! Well, I've made it past that. However, yesterday, I had an awful experience with a company that basically bullied me and threatened me unnecessarily. I ended up giving in, even though I'm sure that I was wronged by them. Our friend and renter suggested a margarita. What a great idea, RJ! So, we piled into the van to go to a Mexican restaurant. Van dead. So, we piled into the Subaru (a bit more challenging but at least I got my margarita!). Came home, a little calmer and grateful for a second vehicle. Then (no, it's not over yet) at 11 pm, our neighbor came pounding at our door and ringing the bell repeatedly. Gas leak. So, at midnight, Mark had to call the gas company over to remedy it. Yesterday, we had a brief thunderstorm, and the kids and I were on that side of the house when we heard a pop, saw lightning flash, and heard a loud crack of thunder all at once. It hasn't been confirmed, but we are wondering if the meter or something got struck by lightning.
Today, our van was towed away, but it's going to be a better day. I know it, because it just has to.

Hang in there Katie... I seem to find that after a string of bad days we end up with a string of good days. Don't forget to keep a chocolate bar hidden in the house for these moments too. :)
Dear Katie! So sorry to hear about your sorrow. I'm glad you shared your woes. I hope better days are ahead of you. I would bring you some cookies if only you lived next door!
oh, dear you. we have margaritas in kansas. : )
come quick!
Sorry about this, dear. Hope it has faded now, and you are better!
Dear Katie ... so sorry about your day! Have had some like that myself in my lifetime. In addition to margarita's (an excellent choice!) or cookies or chocolate, one of my favorite children's books may "work" in terms of perspective: Alexander and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day! Had it on my desk and available for many years :=) Love to you
