Part of getting ready to go up to the cabin is bulking up the reading material. It is refreshing to think that I will be putting myself to sleep with words on paper, rather than a computer screen. Being not quite tech-free, but definitely low-tech is part of the vacation, and it'll do us all some good. I don't pretend that I'll be able to read a lot with two young kids, but much of my computer time will be replaced with books and music. This is part of the joy of our time up north. Here's my stack so far (can you tell I'm craving some new parenting tools? I remember also feeling this need when Mali turned three!):

I have a new Isabel Allende for you!
(mouth beginning to water. . . )
I really like Becky Bailey! I'm reading Easy to Love Difficult to Discipline right now!
I'm writing down the titles of those books, loving Allende with you, and wishing I could join you for a few days in the chilly UP!
