ETSY

Okay, I am still in shock that I just did this, but here we go. . . I set up shop on Etsy. I love browsing Etsy, and am often in awe of the beautiful handmade goods displayed there. I have always felt that the stuff I make is strictly for fun, and probably less than worthy of display, let alone sale (!). But, I looked at Etsy enough to get personally inspired.

Last Christmas, Mali asked Santa for a doll carrier "on her back, just like Mama's." Well, Santa had something else in mind, so I looked at my Ergo, and thought, "Gee, that looks incredibly simple." I decided to try copying the basic design, and I made her one. So, when I told Mark that I was getting inspired to sell some things on Etsy, he immediately piped up, "I know what you should sell! Those doll carriers!" I've always loved Mark's excitability, and I took it and ran. In the next two days, I made 7 of them. Today, I finally got it all together to set up shop. I consider this an experiment, and I'm excited about the wealth of inspiration it might provide for me to continue making things!

For anyone who wants to visit, you can go to katiecl.etsy.com and browse my carriers!

For the rest of you, here's a basic preview:

KATIE!!! Those are freaking ADORABLE! Good for you and your little business venture.

You should move to Lexington so we can play!

These are so cute. I should wear my son in our carrier more often so he gets the idea...and then get him one of these.
Good luck! and Congrats!
