SISTERS

This is something I’ve been looking forward to: sisters cuddled together, comforting each other simply by each others’ presence, the ease of knowing a familiar being – close by.

Not only have Mali and Greta been sleeping together at night, they’ve been connecting throughout the day. This brings me infinite joy. They are becoming so intertwined, so much a part of each other. I watch them, and realize, THIS is why we do it -- the rewards are great. I can only hope that this connectivity has a lasting effect. . . hope that they will keep each other close, continue to feed off each other – for a lifetime. . . hope that they will be able to resist our society’s tendency toward disconnect. I see their happiness together, and I feel a pang – a longing – and I want to say, “hold on. . . hold on to this. . . it will take you far.”
