UP NORTH DREAMING

Since it's basically June outside here in the south, I've already started dreaming about the north country. We have lots of pictures of the beautiful landscape, the wide open water, the unique lighting. This picture caught my attention today, when Greta brought it to me. I saw it and was filled with images of the kids wading in the cold water, gathering these precious shells, the rugged rocks, consuming such delicate pieces, and I loved it! Now I've begun the dreaming and longing stage -- the time of waiting to go up north and breathe easy.

this picture looks like it is straight out of micah's dreams...did you position things? what are the little dips from?

the kids gathered the shells and put them in the crevaces. A lot of the big rocks that come out of the lake have this texture with all the dips -- someone once told me why, but I don't remember the geology of it.

It's volcanic. They called it their museum, and it was.
