A LITTLE ABOUT THIS BLOG

So, when I first starting reading blogs, they were all by topic, and were all academically oriented. Then I started reading personal blogs of friends. I learned that it can just be about your life. Now, the thought of writing a bunch of stuff about myself has never seemed appealing. Why would I want to do that? Well, in my experience as a reader of blogs, I found it a great way to learn about my friends' lives. When we made the transition from Michigan to Georgia, many people suggested that we start a blog to keep up with friends and family. That's when I started thinking about having a family blog. It seems I am sending out updated pictures to you all every once in a while anyway, and it will be much easier this way. And this way I can just put it out there, and you can choose to view it or not. Really, my expectations are low. I don't expect many people to view our blog often. In fact, I will be pleased with any interaction I get from any of you on this blog! For us, it is a way of letting you know what's going on with us in case you're interested, and at the same time, keep a sort of e-journal for our family.

Why private? We talked about this a bit, and decided we would be much less cautious about the information we put on here if we know who may be reading it. The only reason for going public, as we see it, is to broaden the dialog to people we don't know. Since this is just about our personal family updates, there's certainly no need to broaden the dialog!

We'd like to make it not just about us. Yes, admittedly, this is just about us. But, we'd like to hear from you, too. So, please comment or if you'd rather, send us an email and let us know how you're doing too.
